On Marriage, and Proposals

January 23, 2017January 23, 2017 hhstone81 Comment

Hi internet. So this morning I read this post by the fantastic publishers of A Practical Wedding, one of the wedding websites I used when planning our shindig. I still peruse them from time to time, as they post things beyond the nitty-grittys of planning, about relationships, family, and feminism. Today the post that caught [...]

Reflections on the Wedding

It's been nearly five months since the Sven and I tied the proverbial knot, and it feels right to look back at and discuss the planning process. If you, dear reader, are getting married, let me know in comments how your planning is going and if you have any questions! Sven and I got engaged [...]

Weddings and Dancing: We Did The Thing

September 8, 2015November 17, 2015 hhstone82 Comments

Good morning and welcome back to my life! Things are suddenly very quiet in the world of Holly, as the past two weeks have been the chaotic culmination of 8 months of planning, crafting, and scheduling. For those of you who may not know me IRL, I got married! Wooo! So my now-husband (that word [...]

On Stage Fright

August 26, 2015November 17, 2015 hhstone8Leave a comment

So those of you who know me IRL know that I am very soon to be married. I've found that in the last month, the number two question I've received is "Are you ready/nervous?" The number one question, incidentally, is "Are you excited?" to which I enjoy dead-panning "no."ย The short answer to Question Number Two [...]

What is @charles_antenen making??? Tune into the @digitaldanceproject 's next show TANGIBLE MOTION to find out! Come see the digital premiere my new dance film MADE MANIFEST March 19th-21st, tickets on the DDP page!
A year ago today we opened my MFA thesis concert STRANGE LOOPS. At the time I knew the performances were simultaneously a beginning and an ending, but I had no clue that just a week and a half later live performance would be completely gone, my entire schedule and all upcoming work wiped out. I'm very thankful to mentor Tim Glenn, my cast, and the time and space at FSU to grow and create and bring this wierd and wild piece to life. I've lost and re-found dance several times in my life already, and this process showed me how intertwined my artistry and intellectualism can be. Go dance your brain today in my honor! ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿง  โค๏ธ
Excited to start editing the work from yesterday! Stay tuned for more sneak peeks of MADE MANIFEST, my new dance film premiering March 19th-21st with the @digitaldanceproject.
Currently having the slightly surreal experience of directing a dance film via Zoom from 1500 miles away! This insanity would not be possible without the hard work of my partners in crime @c.gwen.c , @charles_antenen , and @zacphilbeck. I can't wait to edit and for everyone to see some magic come to life ๐Ÿ˜‰ March 19th-21st as part of the @digitaldanceproject spring show!
Thank you to everyone who wished me happy birthday! I am so appreciative of those who reached out into the void, now and always.
Boston area dancers! I am subbing Liz Lapuh's in-person ballet classes at @thedancecomplex for the next three weeks starting 1/15! Class is capped at 16 people, email elizabeth.lapuh@umb.edu to register.
Hello network!ย
Catch the premiere of my first-ever, all-digital peice CRYSTALLIZE this weekend as part of the @digitaldanceproject winter show Snowed In! This concert features a variety of winter- and holiday-themed pieces, complete with a science-y dance film by yours truly. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Check out the DDP page for tickets and screening info, and stick around for the Backstage events after the Saturday watch parties Dec 5th and 29th to hear myself and other artists involved talk about their work!
A little drapey-sweater waltz for #worldballetday!
